What a perfect day! Sunny, warm, no wind and tide out!!

Ava had her walk in the morning with dad. I went around there with ruby at 11 to collect her but wanted to take ruby for a quick walk. We ended up being 2 hours! I started from mums and walked to the river mouth. Ruby was tired by the time we got there. But the tide was so far out. Parts that are usually underwater were empty for 10+ metres. How could i not take her down! And there was hardly any one around! She got her energy back when she realised we were. She ran and ran and even trotted off into the water by herself. Ocean was so calm with only little waves so it was perfect. She kept going in to retrieve seaweed!! We walked all the way back home along tje beach. She kept going in and splashing. Really adventourous! She even snorkled!

She was so tired for the rest of the day. Mum said when we left ava just howled and moped about. When we got back she perked up and looked happy! They miss each other!!

Such a windy, stormy morning! But we still took them down for a walk to the beach. We were the only ones there (no surprise!). And it was a surprise to see Ruby go into the water! They rang and chased each other, not going very far from one another. Of course, it bucketed down with rain on the way home and we both got drenched!

We took the girls to the beach today. It was perfectly sunny weather. They ran around and chased each other!

There were two big labbys down there and ruby ran up to say hello but he wasnt friendly. He chased ruby and she bolted! She ran with her tail between her legs and both labbys yried to gang up on her. Then, ava came running in to protect her!

Ava to the rescue!!!!!

We went near some little rock pools and tried to get ruby into the water by yhrowing seaweed or something in! And she went in!! Ruby swam!!! Well kind of. Sam got her to go in a little deeper with ava but she freaked a bit and hurried back out! She might be a water baby still one day! Ava loved having her in the water to splash about with.

Both were exhausted all evening!

For the first day of spring, it is a beautiful day! Couldn't pass up that opportunity, so we took the girls down to the beach. Hardly anyone around which was great. They did meet a couple of dogs that one person had - Ruby, well, she turns all submissive around another dog! She gets real low and rolls over on to her back and goes all mopey!

They both had fun chasing each other around with a piece of cuttlefish.

It's official, Ava can not drink milk in a clean and non messy way! Sam (aka 'Daddy') gave the left over milk from making a coffee. She flicked it everywhere, she didn't just have the milk moustache, she had it all over her face like snow!

Also, i couldn't resist. Ruby is so cute. She just had to have a bow!

We took the girls down to the beach today. Soon as they were free on the sand, Ava took charge! She grabbed rubes by the ear and then neck and pushed her to the ground. This is HER beach! Ruby still wouldnt dear to go in the water! She stays really close by and when Ava barges into her, she comes and walks by us for 'protection'.

Ruby found a cuttlefish and carried it everywhere for a littlr bit. Then laid down to chew it, ava noticed and tem bam! Ava pinched it and ran off with it. Ruby chased, just a fraction behind, but ava ran straight jnto te water, where ruby wouldnt dare venture!!

We took the girls down to the Jetty for a little stroll. Ruby just has to sniff everything! Despite being a sunny day, with a calm ocean, it was pretty empty. We finished off by taking them to the local school oval for a quick run. Soon as they were off their leads, they are like 'we are freeeeee!'. Ruby doesn't venture too far from Ava, who is in her own world! They often run into each other (Ava barges down Ruby and Ruby tramples over Ava when she rolls on her back), but every now and then they are sweet (see photo of them carrying a stick together!).

Ruby is also a little daredevil. No fear in putting her head out the window (paws and all).

We tool the girls down to the beach early this morning. A little choppy, but that never stops Ave going into the freezin water!

Ruby stayed close by to either me or Dad or to Ave. She almost got
Caught by te water a few times but hurried away just in time! We ha to walk over some rocks which Ava just trampled through the water and Ruby went to follow her but then realised she had to go into the water! She quickly back tracked and followed me.
They met a few of their buddies down at the beach and Ruby met a Malamute named Sky. She was almost 10 but seemed to want to play with her. She ran up to Ruby and pounced but about 4 feet from her! She was totally shattered when we got home and slept for quiet a while!

Got caught in a bit of water when she followed Ava quickly. Didn't keep her toes wet for long!

9.6.12 - First Day at the Beach.

Ruby is now set and ready to go to the beach after her vaccinations last week.

She was very excited to be out in the world, sniffing everything! When we got down at the end of the ramp and too the beach, another lady was walking TWO Goldens. Ava run over to say hello and the lady thought, miss Ruby was adorable, but she was a little overwhelmed. She stayed pretty close to us and to Ava, but Ave wasn't having any of it and still running around crazy and into the cold water! Ruby was iffy about the water and when the waves came up, she ran! Not long after, Ruby did get a bit tired and was walking slower but just before we left, Ave started to dig a hole, which she wasn't too pleased about when Ruby decided to help but for a few moments they dug together!

Just like Ava was at that age, she didn't like the water and now, we can't get her out of it, so i am sure Ruby will become the same!
