Oh Ruby. You never know what to expect with her some days! This morning she was very talkative as i let her out of the laundry (aka her bedroom!). One thing i have to get her to stop doing is to stop taking food out of Ava's mouth! I gave Ava some left over toast, and Ava is much more picky with her food - she will sniff, lick, check it out, gentle take it (and if she doens't like it, she will spit it out), so this allows Ruby plenty of time to dive in and take it out of her mouth! Ava doesn't do anything either. Later in the morning, i walked into the Bathroom and the next thing i know, Ruby is in the bathtub! She climed in it herself (the place she hates the most!). As i left to go to work, Ava stands there giving me the sadest and partly disgruntled look as i leave, while Rubes, sits, grinning!

Ruby keeps mum and dad very busy! They left a brand new packet of biscuits on the kitchen bench. Ruby jumped up so she had a front paws on the counter top, struggling to reach across to get the biscuits. She could just reach the tip of the packet but not enough to actually get it. As naughty as it was, they watched her struggle for quite some time to get the packet but having no luck! She doesn't give up easily!

Lately, Ruby has been digging and burrying her bones. Today, dad sat and watched her do it. She had her bone, went off, dug a little hole, popped the bone in, pushed the dirt back with her nose. Five minutes later she went back and dug it up and then re-burried it in another spot. She did it 6 times! Ava has never, ever burried a bone (or anthing). She went through a huge digging faze as a pup and destroyed Dads garden but never burried anything.

Ruby has the most bizarre way of laying. If i am in the kitchen, she will have to lay right in front of the stove, sink, counter - which ever i am using. You literally have to slide her out of the way. Or, she will lay like the picture below when she is sleeping. The most twisted positions!
It really is adorable (and some what annoying if it is in the kitchen!)
She also had a check up at the vets on her stitches. The nurse said it was a bit swollen from probably jumping around (ha, you keep this one still!) but other than that it looks really good and she could tell that she hasn't been licking them. Im so surprised. I thought she would but she hasn't at all! She goes back in a weeks time to get them out!

Rubes is back to herself for sure. They both played and were fighting over duck for ages. And she is constantly happy, wagging that dam tail ( its like a whip!) and that grin. Glad she got over it so quickly. Her belly makes you go all queasy tho - two bits of skin held to get with sitches! Ouch!

Ruby dooby is back to herself! She slept in the ensuite last night with the collar! I was expecting her to wake up a few times but nothing, she slept right through with no accidents. She was allt ail wagging when i went to get her and had her appetite back. It isn't the easiest thing for her to eat and drink with that damn thing on! Poor thing tries to scratch or hold her toys but can't! She was happy to see Ava this morning and went running up to her - only for Ava to be shit scarred of the collar and bolt, which only made ruby chase her!

Ruby went in for her operation today. Dropped her off at 8.30 and picked her back up at 4pm. She was very out of it (so dopey). We got the buster collar incase she was inclined to lick her stitches or climb (since she is like a little monkey sometimes). She mainly fell asleep on the couch (and also vomited on there too but thankfully i got one of her blankets just in time!). Ava stuck close by but was afraid of the collar. She wont eat anything (very unusual for her) so she should hopefully be better tomorrow.

Ruby has a her big operation tomorrow, so after work i took her for a walk to the river mouth. She was mostly good but really hates the gentle leader. She stops, dead in her tracks, pushes her head to the ground and drags her self along. She also thinks everybody who walks past us should say hello (she looks up at them every time) and when they dont she has this look on her face! When we got home, she had a quick bath to ensure she was all clean. She hates bathtime. She is scared of the hose - she will run to the corner of the garden and sit there, whimpering. We got her into the bath, dad gave her a scrub while i held her, giving her treats (it is impossible for one person to do it!). Turned out, it was the perfect time to give her one - directly after a walk. She was so tired she had no energy to fight it. She even laid down in the bathtub full of water and just suck it up!

I miss them! After two weeks with them all the time, its just not the same!
They are back at the grandparents today! Dad was outside with ruby. He was walking along the grass and he decided to run through his legs and he tripped and fell face first in to the grass! Ruby then proceeded to roll around him and over him thinking its a gamr. He said he couldnt tell her off as she was grinning from ear to ear!

What a perfect day! Sunny, warm, no wind and tide out!!
Ava had her walk in the morning with dad. I went around there with ruby at 11 to collect her but wanted to take ruby for a quick walk. We ended up being 2 hours! I started from mums and walked to the river mouth. Ruby was tired by the time we got there. But the tide was so far out. Parts that are usually underwater were empty for 10+ metres. How could i not take her down! And there was hardly any one around! She got her energy back when she realised we were. She ran and ran and even trotted off into the water by herself. Ocean was so calm with only little waves so it was perfect. She kept going in to retrieve seaweed!! We walked all the way back home along tje beach. She kept going in and splashing. Really adventourous! She even snorkled!
She was so tired for the rest of the day. Mum said when we left ava just howled and moped about. When we got back she perked up and looked happy! They miss each other!!

Such a windy, stormy morning! But we still took them down for a walk to the beach. We were the only ones there (no surprise!). And it was a surprise to see Ruby go into the water! They rang and chased each other, not going very far from one another. Of course, it bucketed down with rain on the way home and we both got drenched!

Miss Ruby loves her bubbles!
It is the perfect way to wear her out if i can't take her out for a walk!. She runs (and does zoomies) and is completely pooped out afterwards (often lays by her bowl with her head in it!)

Ruby is becoming more affectionate with Ava. Just wish Ava was with her! Lately she jumps up ont he couch, squeezes herself into the smallest gap and rests her head on Ava.
Or, if there is no room, she will flake out in her usual position - on her back.
We found an old toy of Avas - giraffe. Soon as she got it years ago, she was trying to destroy it so we took it away. I found it the other day and i held it up in front of her. Her eyes got SO big. She knew what it was! Ruby wanted it too! Gave it too Ava and she ran off with it. It did not take her long to start destroying it again!

The girls were so excited to get a show bag especially for doggies! Pigs ears, trotters all sorts of icky gross stuff that they just loved! Both had one and went off separately to eat it. Then, both back to were they were given them to lick up any crumbs!

We took the girls to the beach today. It was perfectly sunny weather. They ran around and chased each other!
There were two big labbys down there and ruby ran up to say hello but he wasnt friendly. He chased ruby and she bolted! She ran with her tail between her legs and both labbys yried to gang up on her. Then, ava came running in to protect her!
Ava to the rescue!!!!!
We went near some little rock pools and tried to get ruby into the water by yhrowing seaweed or something in! And she went in!! Ruby swam!!! Well kind of. Sam got her to go in a little deeper with ava but she freaked a bit and hurried back out! She might be a water baby still one day! Ava loved having her in the water to splash about with.
Both were exhausted all evening!

That'll teach me. Note to self- next time ruby cries in tjw night - get out of bed and take her outside!
Went to let ruby out of laudry, only to discover she had many poo explosions. On te floor, multiple times on her bed. And one pile almost as big as her head. Oh and a wee too.
Her bed ruined, her blankets ruined. Even dinosaur. Hopefully he can be scrubbed up. All toys will be having a bath on te weekend. Now i have to fid sonething for her to sleep on tonight!
Oh and to top it off, miss ava decided to do a big wee on the carpet in the lounge. Yes, the diva who wouldnt go outside last night for one because it was windy and raining. Thank you Ava.

Zoooomies!!!
Ruby had an attack. An attack of the zoomies. I havent seen her like that
For awhile. She went crazy. First barking at ava right in her face, then off the couch on thw couch back off etc. Running around but her legs couldnt take her fast enough!
