The Adventures of Ava and Ruby: Swimming

About Us

We are the world's most adorable Golden Retrievers. My name is Ava, I'm the oldest (and in charge) and in March I turned two. In May this year we welcomed a new addition to our family, my sister whom they named Ruby. She is a real pain sometimes and bugs me until I am ready to snap but we do have fun. This is a blog my mum runs to show us off (duh, why wouldn't she want to!). I love to go to the beach and swim and I hope my baby sister will join me when she is bigger. Mum loves to take silly photos of us (ok, sometimes we do the silly poses on our own) but still, I know what the camera is and i play up to it. I have to show off my cute side. Enjoy looking at us.

We took the girls to the beach today. It was perfectly sunny weather. They ran around and chased each other!

There were two big labbys down there and ruby ran up to say hello but he wasnt friendly. He chased ruby and she bolted! She ran with her tail between her legs and both labbys yried to gang up on her. Then, ava came running in to protect her!

Ava to the rescue!!!!!

We went near some little rock pools and tried to get ruby into the water by yhrowing seaweed or something in! And she went in!! Ruby swam!!! Well kind of. Sam got her to go in a little deeper with ava but she freaked a bit and hurried back out! She might be a water baby still one day! Ava loved having her in the water to splash about with.

Both were exhausted all evening!

Ruby is now set and ready to go to the beach after her vaccinations last week.

She was very excited to be out in the world, sniffing everything! When we got down at the end of the ramp and too the beach, another lady was walking TWO Goldens. Ava run over to say hello and the lady thought, miss Ruby was adorable, but she was a little overwhelmed. She stayed pretty close to us and to Ava, but Ave wasn't having any of it and still running around crazy and into the cold water! Ruby was iffy about the water and when the waves came up, she ran! Not long after, Ruby did get a bit tired and was walking slower but just before we left, Ave started to dig a hole, which she wasn't too pleased about when Ruby decided to help but for a few moments they dug together!

Just like Ava was at that age, she didn't like the water and now, we can't get her out of it, so i am sure Ruby will become the same!
